The European Digital Innovation Hub in Transylvania (TEDIHT), our center of excellence in digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Northwestern Region of Romania, has successfully secured funding of 12,524,421.83 lei through a national competition organized by the Romanian Authority for Digitalization. As a result, we are poised to ramp up our efforts to support the digital transformation of SMEs in the region and enhance the quality of services provided to communities by local authorities.
The TEDIHT consortium comprises six partners: Transylvania IT Cluster (acting as the orchestrator), Hygia Consult, Babeș-Bolyai University, Technical University, Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies, all based in Cluj-Napoca.
Our mission at TEDIHT is to provide a comprehensive set of digital transformation and innovation services for both SMEs and non-profit organizations in the public sector operating in the Northwestern Region. Through the European Digital Innovation Hubs network, we aim to extend these impacts at the European level.
Focusing on artificial intelligence technologies and access to high-performance computing, we aspire to support the green and digital transformation of private and public entities (non-profit) in areas such as digital health and automation. In doing so, we aim to contribute to economic development, increased competitiveness, and the promotion of societal progress throughout the region.
Bianca Muntean, Manager of Transylvania IT Cluster and Coordinator of TEDIHT, emphasized, “This funding represents not only a crucial financial support but also a recognition of our potential to be a leading actor in the digital transformation of SMEs and local authorities. We are determined to use these resources strategically and efficiently, with the goal of stimulating innovation, supporting entrepreneurs, and contributing to the development of a sustainable digital economy.”
The funds are provided by the Romanian Authority for Digitalization (ADR), and our ongoing collaborations with the European Commission and ADR are essential for the sustained progress of this initiative. TEDIHT asserts itself as a regional consortium composed of 14 organizations, six partners, and eight associated partners, developed by key innovation players in the Northwestern Region. Our assumed mission is to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem and accelerate the digital transformation process for SMEs and the public sector. With your support and that of our partners, we are determined to make TEDIHT a catalyst for digital innovation and economic progress throughout our community.
The funds are provided by the Romanian Authority for Digitalization, serving as the Intermediate Body for the Smart Growth, Digitalization, and Financial Instruments Program 2021-2027, through Action 2.4 Digitalization of SMEs carried out by European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) in Romania.
This funding signifies the confirmation of TEDIHT’s status as a project of strategic national importance, thereby reinforcing its crucial role in advancing digital innovation and economic transformation in the Northwestern region of Romania and at the European level. TEDIHT will continue to offer high-quality support and services, making significant contributions to the evolution of the digital sector and the sustainable development of its SME community.
Since 2016, through steadfast efforts, Transylvania IT and TEDIHT have actively partnered in the development of Digital Innovation Hubs in Romania, engaging in valuable collaborations with the European Commission and the Romanian Authority for Digitalization. Furthermore, this funding represents just one step in the sustained progress within this initiative.
