Transilvania IT Cluster, in collaboration with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN), announces the launch of a new higher education project within the Erasmus+ program, titled "Strategic Higher-education Initiative for Networking and Engineering: Innovative Concurrent Engineering Methodologies and Teaching Scenarios" (acronym: SHINE). The project began on October 1, 2024, and will run for 36 months, concluding on September 30, 2027.
The SHINE project aims to improve higher education, particularly in the field of mechatronics, through the development and implementation of an innovative teaching methodology called U-TEAM (University Teaching Methodology). This methodology focuses on integrating pedagogical approaches from technical fields as well as the humanities and social sciences, providing contemporary solutions to the challenges faced by higher education.
Transilvania IT Cluster and UTCN are partners in an international consortium of 8 organizations, bringing together five higher education institutions, two IT clusters, and an entrepreneurship institute from five European countries: Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania. Each partner has extensive experience in education and in applying contemporary teaching methodologies, thereby strengthening the project's ability to achieve its proposed objectives.
Project Impact
The SHINE project is designed to address the diverse educational needs of students, tackling issues such as low graduation rates in certain regions. Through the development and implementation of U-TEAM, the project will contribute to enhancing the quality of higher education and integrating best pedagogical practices from various fields. Additionally, the consortium, which includes Transilvania IT Cluster and UTCN, will promote transnational cooperation and the exchange of best practices in higher education, with a primary focus on the internationalization of education and research.
