Transilvania IT Cluster participated in the EU-Singapore Matchmaking Event 2023, hosted during the Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH) and Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia 2023, held from October 31st to November 2nd. This prestigious gathering, organized by the European Commission and Enterprise Singapore, enjoys unwavering support from the EU Delegation to Singapore and the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The primary aim of this important event is to serve as a conduit for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and networking opportunities, fostering deep connections among European cluster organizations, SMEs, Start-Ups and Industry Associations, nurturing relationships with counterparts from Singapore and beyond.
Transilvania IT Cluster took the global stage again, actively participating in this event with the vision of nurturing collaboration and igniting innovation.
Day 1
On the first day, Transilvania IT Cluster's representatives were engaged in a series of exciting activities. The day started with opening remarks of key representatives from Enterprise Singapore, the Singapore Business Federation, the EU Delegation to Singapore and the DG Grow, European Commission, setting the tone for EU-Singapore business cooperation.
Following the opening remarks, the event featured a session of testimonials from European and Singaporean business organizations that have already embarked on successful collaborations. These testimonials offered valuable insights and inspiration to the participants.
Also, the participants geared up for matchmaking sessions, which provided an unique chance for one-on-one conversations and connections. These interactions were very productive, setting the stage for new collaborations and partnerships.
Day 2
Day 2 was all about immersion in innovation and exploration. It commenced with exhibition tours and custom-guided tours, offering participants a curated experience of key highlights in the exhibition, aligning with their specific areas of interest and expertise.
During this same day, the participants also had the opportunity to network, connect and explore potential cross-border business opportunities. The event provided structured networking sessions, fostering connections within specific groups and sectors with a focus on key industries such as Agrifood, Health Care and Biomedical Tech, Digital Tech, Smart Cities and Urban Solutions, Advanced Manufacturing and Green Tech.
Other engaging activities were the Sandbox/Founders Hub program and Lab Crawls. Lab Crawls offered a unique opportunity to delve into Singapore's innovation infrastructure through curated tours of innovation labs, each showcasing different technologies and developments across various industries.
A debriefing session, a survey and closing remarks by DG GROW and EISMEA, concluded and marked the end of an overall successful day.
Day 3
This day was all about diving into the world of innovation and entrepreneurship visiting one-north, one of Singapore's startup hubs with 700 residents and 400 VCs, supported by Singapore's Government and various agencies.
It was also about how they promote a clean, digital and eco-friendly economy through education, which is such a different way of thinking and doing education.
At the start of the day, we gathered with EnterpriseSG for the primary event at one-north. Here, we connected with industry leaders and took part in a panel discussion led by JTC representatives, centered on fostering a collaborative ecosystem for innovation within one-north.
The day continued with an immersive experience at the Experiential Showcase in one-north, featuring three standout companies: SIMPPLE, NICE Surgical, and Garuda Robotics. These startups showcased their innovations, opening doors for potential collaborations. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the LaunchPad.
Wrapping up the day, we had an enlightening session at the ACE Ideation Centre, providing valuable insights and networking opportunities.
Our participation in the EU-Singapore Matchmaking Event 2023 is more than just a participation; year by year, this is a commitment to fostering global collaboration, igniting innovation and expanding networks. This event has set the stage for promising partnerships, innovative projects and a brighter future in the world of technology.
In conclusion, we had this opportunity to engage in such a whirlwind of innovation, technology and global collaboration and we aim to bring in our daily activity as a cluster all the things we’ve learned and all the ideas we’ve shared.
